Barangay Gumasa has a six kilometer-long crescent beach on Sarangani’s eastern shore and only about an hour’s drive from General Santos City. wherein you'll find pristine beaches with white powdery sand. The beach is shallow enough even for little kids to wade on, the waves are manageable and not big(even during high tide) so if you're not thinking of surfing, and just want a clean, untouched beach area with minimal comforts, then Gumasa is the place for you. Gumasa is a small fishing village in the municipality of Glan, a coastal town on the southern end of the Sarangani bay near the tip of mainland Mindanao. Its popular for its fine white sand beach that stretches for almost a kilometer.

The terrain of Glan is characterized by flatlands, rolling hills and mountains. Most land areas have been converted to agriculture and fishponds. Many foreign and local tourists flock to the area during summer because of its world class beach resorts. It has been a decade that Glan made known its tourism potentials with the rediscovery of its white sand beaches, particularly those in Gumasa and Taluya.
